Play by the rules of KISS at Cheltenham this weekend...

...and by KISS I don't mean you should be attacking the two day Cheltenham Showcase meeting in the style of Gene Simmons!!

I suspect his betting style would be somewhat erratic, a shade on the flamboyant side and he'd probably convince himself he'd won every time...even though he'd lost!!

Yeah I reckon Gene Simmons may fall into the realms of mug punting! (if you happen to know Gene don't tell him I said that, I'm actually a big KISS fan, I wouldn't want to upset the big fella...)

The KISS I'm talking about, of course, is the 'Keep It Simple, Stupid' method.

And how best to apply that to this weekends Cheltenham meeting?

Well simple...

Make sure you keep Paul Nicholls firmly on your side.

At the last five Cheltenham Showcase meetings Nicholls has easily outstripped the rest of the trainers when it comes to winners. EASILY outstripped them...

He's had EIGHT more winners than his nearest rival Nigel Twiston-Davies...

He's had ELEVEN more winners than Henderson, O'Neill and Hobbs (in fact he's had three more than that trio even when you combine their powers!!)...

It may be obvious, it may be simple, but it lead to profits...

Here are his stats at the meeting for the last five years (since 2012)...

Paul Nicholls Showcase stats...

15/42 | 36% S/R | +£18.44 LSP (+21.64 BFLSP)

Win & Place 20/42 | 48% S/R

59% above expectation

Amazingly he's profitable to follow blind and he's had at least one winner at each of the last five Showcase meetings.

BUT...

Those figures can be tightened up to find an even STRONGER strike-rate and JUICIER profits...

And that's where I enter MINI-ANGLE territory!

Take a look at the following...

Paul Nicholls Mini-Angle | Cheltenham Showcase meeting

Runners that had 1-8 previous (UK) starts

12/22 | 55% S/R | +£29.45 LSP (+£32.48 BFLSP)

Win & Place 15/22 | 68% S/R

103% above expectation

That angle has been profitable in each of the last five years.

As far as angles go it's pretty damn simple, but that's why it fits snugly in the KISS methodology.

Profitable doesn't need to be complicated.

K.I.S.S

Qualifiers for this Paul Nicholls angle will be highlighted by myself to full NTF members over the next couple of days.

You can, of course, source the qualifiers yourself, or you can let me do the hard work for you...

I also have another Mini-Angle to attack this Cheltenham meeting with...

It's not a meeting that produces a massive amount of mini-angles to attack the two days with but these two have caught my eye and hopefully there will be at least a few qualifiers for both. Neither mini-angle produces a mountain of qualifiers each year but both have produced qualifiers (and winners!) in each of the last five years so I'd be disappointed if there wasn't a few to tuck into this time around as well...

Time to attack this National Hunt season like Ruby Walsh off the front end on a Willie Mullins G1 Hurdler...
