Damn you weather!
Well, in some ways...
It's never great when you lose multiple meetings due to the glorious British weather although on the other-hand it did make the weekends racing less frenetic, a bit calmer to view, there was actually time to get up and make a cup of tea, I wasn't constantly flicking between channels to make sure I didn't miss a race...
There is certainly something to be said about 'less is more' and spreading the racing out a bit so that it's not a full on weekend assault that leaves you feeling overwhelmed and being battered from all directions...
And despite the cancellations there was still more than enough
for me to chew on when it came to constructing this weeks 'What we learned from the weekend' post, in
which I'm looking at...
1. The Nicholls horse that enhanced his reputation in defeat...
2. The Mullins star that really should be garnishing more respect than he's been given...
3. A new Gold Cup contender throwing his hat (and trainer's duffelcoat) into the ring...
