BDH - Spark Plug lives up to his livewire status!!

Published: Sun, 05/17/15

When the fuse was lit by Jimmy Fortune aboard SPARK PLUG at Newbury yesterday the result was positively explosive!

Not only was he the impressive winner of the closing handicap on Lockinge Day, he was also the second BDH squad member to run this season, following the impressive York winner Algar Lad into the winners enclosure!

I hope you were on him?

The analysis was on the free BDH blog after he finished a fast closing 2nd in the Spring Cup a month ago.

It was a fantastic example of how the BDH method rips into the straight-track races and cherry picks those runners that ran better than the bare form suggests, in search of juicy future winners!

Once again BDH Members were sitting with their fingers on the trigger waiting for Spark Plug's prime conditions, and on Friday evening I gave them the nod...

BDH Saturday Qualifier: SPARK PLUG - 4:55 Newbury

The conditions I identified for SPARK PLUG were…

Happy to keep an open mind on him at present although as a general pointer I would be looking for...

Running in 1m – 1m2f handicaps - YES (1m Hcp)

From or around his current mark (OR 100) - YES (OR 102)

Good ground might be ideal for him but he clearly handles Good to Firm as well - YES (Good)

Full marks on the general pointers for him there, always a good start.

I've also had a look at the draw/pace as it's a straight track blast and the pace looks likely to come from Energia Flavio in stall 14 and possibly Highland Colori in stall 15. That suits us as we are drawn in stall 11.

There doesn't look much/any pace from down low and middle to high looks the place to be; great for us.

All looks set for a big run and I'm happy play him here.

Conclusion – SPARK PLUG, Straight Win Bet (if significant juice in price will look to play E/W)

I'll be adding a couple more members to either the BDH or UTR squads this week as I seek to bolster the attack line for the summer and today is your LAST CHANCE to grab a slot in the BDH Members Area before I close the doors for the season...

The post race analysis given for Spark Plug on the free blog after his run in the Spring Cup is exactly the kind of analysis provided to full members throughout the season.

It's a perfect example of my methods at work.

SPARK PLUG is a prime example of a BDH horse doing the business.

They won't all be Spark Plugs or Algar Lads but they WILL be as exhaustively researched and scrutinised to give BDH Members (and myself) the best chance of landing some juicy winners throughout the long and hot summer months.

Happy Punting

Ben (BDH)

P.S. Doors WILL be closing tomorrow (Monday 18th May)
