NTF Free Guide: Who holds Prime Dosage Figures for the 2016 Cheltenham Gold Cup...

Published: Thu, 03/26/15

Lets get this straight, when it comes the strongest Dosage races on the National Hunt calender very few can match the accuracy of the Cheltenham Gold Cup.

Year after year the race is won by a horse with the correct Dosage profile. This year was no different. CONEYGREE was a full box-ticker on the angle and he delivered in style. His Dosage profile was bang on. Genetically he was a prime fit.

SILVINIACO CONTI, on the other hand, falls short on the Dosage side of things. He has been beaten in the last three Gold Cups at odds of 4/1, 11/4 & 3/1. Genetically he isn't built for the demanding challenge.

With Cheltenham 2015 still relatively fresh in our minds and the Aintree Festival not quite within reaching distance I wanted to use this limbo time to take an early look at the potential candidates for the 2016 Gold Cup and put them to the Dosage test, scrutinising who exactly meets the trends for the race and who falls short.

These figures are unlikely to change between now and next March and as such we are able to get an early grasp on who has the correct genetic make-up to tackle the demanding challenge of the Gold Cup.

DON POLI and VAUTOUR head the betting for the 2016 Gold Cup after their impressive wins at this year's Festival but do they have the Dosage figures to land the Gold Cup?

The figures may surprise you...

Thanks, as always, for being a loyal NTF reader.

Enjoy the guide.
