NTF: The best of 2012...

Happy New Year to you all!

Hopefully the hangovers are not too bad?!?

Before we fully kick on into 2013 I want to take a look back at some of my favourite NTF post's from 2012....

Post #1 - NTF Q&A with Tom Segal (Pricewise)

Why? First of all the answers really made for excellent reading. I'm a fan of Mr Segal and his answers did not disappoint. Secondly the response it stirred in you guys was great! Pricewise really does split opinion and you guys were not scared to share your thoughts, both in the comments section and on Twitter!

Post #2 - It can pay to be blinkered when it comes to McCain and Maguire...

Why? I LOVE this mini-angle! I know plenty of you also love it as well! It does not highlight many qualifiers in a year but when the come along they are well worth following. The 2012 figures finished as 8/14 | 57% S/R | +£44.85 BFLSP

Post #3 - NTF 1 to follow from the weekend (ALFIE SHERRIN)

Why? It is always great to spot a bit of a plot happening but it's even better when the plot strikes at the Cheltenham Festival! What made this one even better was the fact I had numerous emails and tweets from you guys saying you had got on at some pretty tasty prices (some even got 50's before pesky Pricewise tipped it up in the paper!)

Post #4 - Perth Festival Pointers: 4 trainers you NEED on your side...

Why? I love the Perth festival, they are some of my favourite days of the year. I also like having a decent punt at the track. It took me a while to master making a profit at what used to be my 'local' track but through years of...um...trial and error I know go into Perth meeting with plenty of punting confidence. This post hit the mark with the 3 of the 4 trainers turning profit, surprisingly it was Gordy Elliott who underperformed (I minor blip I'm sure!)

Post #5 -  NTF 1 to follow from the weekend: A 'springer' to keep an eye on...

Why? Ah good old Auroras Encore! On his next start after I highlighted him as '1 to follow from the weekend' he romped home at Haydock at a rather tasty BFSP of 16.69. On his next start he then ran the race of his life to get pipped on the line in the Scottish National at a BFSP of 40.02!!

It is always worthwhile looking back at previous posts as plenty golden nuggets can be gleamed from them and they can also help to spring new and fresh ideas into your racing brain.

I hope you all enjoy 2013 and I'm sure you are all with me in hoping this rain finally stops punishing our racetracks!!

Happy Punting
