Evening
Another afternoon of digging deep into trends and stats for next week's Aintree National meeting...
...but well worth it...
...as I'm now all primed and ready for the action, with my Race Trends all now locked and loaded for when final decs come through at the 48-hour stage...
...which means my brain is
free to pull together the analysis for the Irish National... which come at us on Monday (6th Apr)... a race that is also part of the NTF Members Spring
Festival service... I'll have that analysis with members this Sunday...
...back to Aintree... and answering the question I posed in the title of this
email...
What is the 'strongest' Cheltenham to Aintree race?
As in... what Aintree race produces the most winners who had their last run at the Cheltenham Festival...
Well... that would be 'The Melling Chase'... won last year by JONBON...
With a whopping 22 of the last 27 winners of the race running at the Cheltenham Festival on their last run before winning at Aintree...
You couldn't have just backed all the qualifiers blind and made a profit... with the overall stats reading...
22/134 | 16% S/R | -£35.09 LSP - W&P 46/134 | 34% S/R
...but there is a
neat little angle that tightens things up significantly... that angle being...
Aintree Melling Chase | Ran at Cheltenham Festival LTO | Previously won at Grade 1 level | 23 or less Chase
starts
...which tightens things up to a much healthier...
21/64 | 33% S/R | +£29.91 LSP - W&P 34/64 | 53% S/R
E/W = +£33.81 | 31% above exp
